-----AND THEN THE SNAILS ARE COMING!!!!!!!!!!
-----AND THEN THE SNAILS ARE COMING!!!!!!!!!!

No, I don' t want to show you my devasteted leaves, perennial herbs simply fallen apart, stalks without blossoms and the leftovers of the plants destroyed by snails. I will show you what remains afterwards.... and how helpful it is to simply overlook it all generously.

Thank goodness, my terrace has a glass roof. So the decoration is protected against bad weather and garden visitors are looking first to this details.

As you can see, Mauzi prefers to lie on the terrace at the present. He is avoiding his "regular" places, like near the Nepeta. Yes, my tomcat is an esthetic!!!

My paradise gate with the view through it is very important just in this situation! Big leaves, like those of the Symphytum are able to cover plants which have been destroyed.

Near the pond this bronze duck helps me to turn my gaze away from the sight of the tattered leaves of the water lilies.

There isn' t a rose or a clematis blossom in the rondell and so I require another eye catcher.

I think it' s very important to take strong colors for decorating in this situation. I love pastel flowers but strong flowers are better in this place and the rose shows who is truly the most important plant here.

The same trick can be done with a strong striking flower decoration I will put in this vase over the wall behind the rondell.

Next to the dor of the cabin hang my bonsai scissors to put fear into the heart of snails..... they don' t seem to be much impressed and I' m too "chicken" anyway....

The place where the hosta leaves and hosta blossoms would normally adorn the potts, the corner, has been decorated with a handmade gift from garden friends.

The teak deckchair and the short grass fulfil now a double structural function. Strolchi, a cat which often visits my garden, loves this place, although the rock garden isn' t an eye catcher presently.

This lizard made in the Byzantinium style reminds me of a garden visit to Tuscany and prevents me from seeing exactly the hail destruction on the Sempervivum leaves in the rock garden.

In the destroyed Hemerocallis path I put the bronze Madonna which was the masterpiece of my oldest cousin.

When you go in the wintergarden you find Orchid - Hybrids in blossom. It' s a compensation for the missing blossoms in the garden.

This somehow makes up for the lost blossom-dreams that I usually adore in late summer.

The Gloriosa aurantiaca is doing her best to content me.

Under the roof of the front door I need also a color point to keep my mind off of the destruction. Yes, I am trying to turn away from the weather and snail damage in the garden this way. Do you think it works???

The mailman brought me some beautiful surprices for my blog birthday. Here is this lovely baroque shoe planted with Sempervivum I received from Ele. Once more I say, "Many thanks to all who thought about, commented on or wrote to me!
I am going to show the books for the three winners of the blog birthday in my next post; one of these books has just been released and I should be receiving it in the next days.
