This year I visited once again gardens in the South of England: Kent, Sussex and Surrey. It was a wonderful programm including the "Hampton Court Flower Show". This is a short abstract of my trip to. After I packed my clothes Mauzi packed himself in my bag!!!

CLINTON LODGE

Clinton Lodge was the first garden. There are many different garden rooms presenting the history of European garden styles.

I will show you this garden with all its details and styles once again in Winter.

Hailsham Grange, a former vicarage and the nearby church, provide a worthy framework for one of the best color mixed borders I have ever seen in my life and - I tell you - I know a lot of them!!!

Hailsham Grange was at 2.500 square meters the smallest garden on this trip (!!), but there were lovely details I will report on at a later time just as the story why there is waiting a glass of wine at me.

Town Place is a big and great garden; I have a lot to tell about it and there will be a post in Winter upcoming.

It' s hard to select only three photographs for each garden as an overall view.

The next day we went to the Hampton Court Flower Show.

Here I show you also only three pictures. If you wish to see more, please look into Henny' s Blog; she has made detailed posts from all.

This year Sissinghurst was much better than in 2006.

About Sissinghurst, I can only say that you can expect a separate post from there.

Great Dixter is a very exciting garden!

Here also I will show you the pictures from 2006 together with the new ones at a later date.

The venerable RHS Garden Wisley was the first property and garden of the Royal Horticultural Society.

There' s not much in the way of gardens and plants that you can' t see here!!!

The last garden was Dunsborough Park with old victorian greenhouses and a lot of sculptures from this time.

The garden was neglected and seemed plaintively melancholy near the houses in the front. However, when you arrived at the water garden behind with its belvedere, then Nature itself began laughing with you!

MARC CHAGALL

And then, finally, I' d like to show you the little village church with the Marc-Chagall-windows. What a wonderful light and color effects in the glass!
